Competitive Program, rising 10th - 12th Grade: June 22 -July 18
Development Program, rising 9th - 12th Grade with previous rowing experience : July 6 - 17; July 20 - July 31 ; Aug 3 - 14

Learn to Row (through the Town of Clifton Park), rising 7th - 8th Grade: July 6 - 17; July 20 - July 31 ; Aug 3 - 14

Program Categories

Novice

Athletes with less than one year of experience on the water. Athletes focus on:

  • learning names for parts of equipment

  • proper handling of equipment

  • parts of the stroke

  • developing the stroke

  • working as part of a team

Athletes are boated daily in a manner to get as many people on the water as possible while focusing on their long term development.

Experienced Middle School

7 - 8th grade athletes with 1 year or more of experience on the water. Athletes focus on:

  • continued development of boat knowledge

  • rowing technique

  • team skills.

More time is spent on fine tuning stroke skills and developing race techniques including scrimmages and a season ending championship regatta.

Competitive Program

The Competitive Program, which includes first year freshmen and high school rowers, has a higher level of commitment required which is outlined by the Program Director to athletes desiring to race at the highest levels of the sport.

This squad requires training above the standard expected of high school athletes.
